Chere tous,
I have a C2000 that I bought a while back. I have tried 4 different hard disc in it over the past two years from a varaity of manufacturers (Seagate Fujitsu) and whenever the film is played, the picture would pause after a period of time, with the disc making some odd whining noises. I therefore concluded that perhaps something was amiss with the disc (all four of these)! At the same time, I reflashed the firmware with the latest version for the device, retested, but had the same results.
Yesterday, I bought a CF-to-IDE converter, which allows one to use Compact Flash cards as IDE drives. The unit that I bought is a CF-IDE44 V.B.1. It has these specifications:
* CF spec Version2.0 and IDE/ATA-33 specification.
* Stabndard IDE interface: true-IDE mode, support DMA-33 transfer mode.
* Supports CF-I and CF-II : also suppoers IBM micro-driver with CF-II interface.
* Master/Slave jumper.
I put the CF/IDE card inside the C2000, and it was recognised as a drive by the operating system (Linux) and I formatted the 2GiB CF card installed with NTFS, and copied an DVIX file to it.
I disconnected the C2000 from the computer, and plugged it into the television set and turned it on. The following message was displayed, (this is from memory because I did not write down the exact message):
"Hard disc is either unformatted, has an unrecognised partition ID, or is incorrectly connected."
Would you be able to give me some advise on how to trouble shoot this problem.
best regards. |
