On the TVIX 4000P firmware 2.2.7 NTSC. I noticed when I play a mpeg file there are 3 vertical white dots in the right corner of the TV screen. The white dots are caused by an incomplete erasure of the last E in SUBTITLE NONE when it is flashed on the screen when the mpeg is played. Looks like a firmware bug.

It is - it was introduced in 2.2.7 along with the broken Internet Radio functionality. I've reported it to DVICo, but had no feedback on that issue at all (they've pretty much told me that if I want internet radio working I'm going to have to revert to 2.2.0 though).

I got round the 3 dots issue by switching off the on-screen display completely. I figured I'd know when I'd pressed pause or play...

Thank you for your reply.

I also turned off OSD (On Screen display) and notified DIVCO of the problem. Being cosmetic and not a current product I don't expect a fix.

To be honest, unless you use the optional TV Tuner I'm not sure what the advantage in using 2.2.7 is..

Good point! I don't use the TV tuner. I moved the firmware back to 2.2.0.

Guess you found out it's a bug and had to go to an older update.
